D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and 26 personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the county and State aforesaid, Isaac E. Lee, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 82 years of age, having been born on the 31 day of March, 1844, in the county of Williamsburg, in the State of S. C. That he is a bona fide citizen of the county of Flagler, State of Florida. That he has resided in the State of Florida continuously since the 15 day of June, 1908. That he is the identical person who enlisted at Kingstree, S. C. under the name of Isaac E. Lee, on the 1st day of Sept., 1861, in Company Wenee Volunteers, Regiment 1st S. C. of the State of S. C. in the service of the Confederate States and who was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Richmond, VA., in the State of Virginia, on the 2 day of April 1865, on account of close of war. That I was at Richmond, Va. in the Jackson Hospital. That I have not heretofore applied for a pension from the State of Florida and refer to Claim No. ____ for the proof contained therein. (Here state any wounds received, or loss of limbs and eyesight.) Lower jaw bone shot away. That my postoffice address is Bunnell, County of Flagler, State of Florida. His X mark: Isaac E. I am today writing the War Department for an official record of your service, however, if I am unable to obtain same, it will be necessary that you establish proof of your service by affidavits of two comrades who served with you or by affidavit of a commissioned officer under whom you served. Inf., C.S.A., enlisted Sept. 5, 1861 at Fort Johnson, and on muster roll for Mch. 1, to Apr. 11, 1862, (last roll on file) is shown present, "re-enlisted for two years of the war." The records show that most of the members of the above Co. subsequently served in Co. C, 25th S. C. Inf. The records show that J. E. Lee, pvt., Co. C, 25th S. C. Inf., enlisted Apr. 12, 1862 at Battery Island and on muster roll for Sept. and Oct. 1863, last on which borne, is shown "transferred to Capt. Land's Co. (Co. I) 26th, S. C. Inf., Oct. 26, 1863, and on muster roll of the latter organization for Feb. 29 to June 30, 1864, is shown "sick wounded, May 20, 1864." On muster roll for Jan. and Feb. 1865, (last on file) he is shown, "retired on account of disability, Feb. 1, 1865. Robert C. Our records have been searched and I furnish you herewith the following information regarding soldiers appearing in the records and who bear like names to those listed in your letter, this information is furnished to the best of our ability on the basis of identification shown in your letter, however, I cannot certify in every case that they are the soldiers about whom you inquire. Jesse Malphurs - Confederate Pensioner #11972-A. He was born in Clinch County, Georgia, December 5, 1837. Enlisted in 1861 at Starke, Bradford County, Florida, in Captain Richards Company, 1st Battalion Florida Infantry. Later lst Florida Battalion was put in 10th Florida Regiment Infantry. Application filed from Volusia County, no record of date of death. Application for pension filed 1906. James W. Davis - We have a James Davis, not James W., Confederate Pension #4589. He was born January 27, 1842, and died October 26, 1919, in Lake County, Florida. He married Rebecca Newberry in Georgia. His service record indicates that he enlisted at Abbeville, Georgia, March 20, 1862, company E, 49th Regiment of Georgia. He was discharged at Macon, Georgia, April 15, 1865. He was a Private. Isaac E. Lee - Confederate Pensioner #8761. He was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, March 31 1844. He enlisted at Kingstree, South Carolina, September 1, 1861, in Company Wenee Volunteers, 1st Regiment, South Carolina. Discharged at Richmond, Virginia, June 2, 1865. No date of death given. George W. Durrance - Confederate Pensioner # 8938. This pension was allowed by Special Acts of Legislature of June 10, 1935. Copy of bill attached. John Helms - I am giving you the following information but cannot certify that this John Helms is the same man you are searching for. He enlisted under Captain C. B. Poindexter of the ship Artic. Resided at Bunnell. Born in North Carolina, November 1837. Enlisted at Camp Horne, Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1863, for the Naval Service previous to which he worked in the Army Gun Shop for about a year at Jamestown, North Carolina. Confederate Pensioner #6116. F. D. Darnington - We cannot identify this man from "Soldiers of Florida", Confederate Records or our micro-film records. James Franklin Raulerson - Confederate Pensioner #1235. He was born in 1828. Married Lucretia Lewis March, 1859. Died March 19, 1911, in St. Johns County, Florida. Enlisted at Lake City, Florida, 1862, in Company I, 3rd Regiment Florida. Her served under Captain Woods, Colonel Dilwirth, and G. T. Maxwell, 1st Florida Cavalry.
