The cemetery is listed as Hamilton County Property Appraiser Parcel 4920-000 in Section 25 Twp 2N Range 11E, owner of record is BPI School Board. A local resident informed that there was once a church and school for the black families in the area on this parcel of land; he did not know the name of the cemetery. The earliest burial is Scearvan Strickland who died June 27, 1979 (in Columbia County, FL). Researching Hamilton County Death Records on three random people (with headstones) buried in this cemetery provided the names Bellville, Burnham and Mt. Pleasant. However, those are known cemeteries and are not at this location. Conversation with the School Board revealed that at their recent meeting it was voted to transfer the deed for this parcel to Louise Hall, the widow of Charles T. Hall, who owns Charles T. Hall Funeral Home 620 Houston Avenue SW, Live Oak, FL 32064-3038. Contact with Charles T. Hall Funeral Home and was revealed this cemetery had not been named. However, once they receive the deed, they plan to keep the name Hamilton as assigned on the 2002 Official Map of Hamilton County Florida (printed by River Graphics) which shows cemeteries in Hamilton County. It should be noted that the WPA Veterans' Grave Registration Project listed two cemeteries called Hamilton, one African-American. However, the section, twp, and range do not match that of the cemetery on NW 32nd Street. To reach the cemetery from Exit 460 on I-75 (west of Jasper) take State Road 6 West and travel 3/10 mile. Turn right onto County Road 146 and travel 8.3 miles and turn right onto NW 32nd Street (unpaved). Travel 4/10 of a mile and the cemetery will be on the right about 40 yards from the edge of the road.
