Additional Comments: Clyde's Obituary provided further info: 79, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on May 20, 1926, to the late Wade and Mabel Payne, Mr. Payne. Moved to Hamilton County 56 years ago, where he was executive director of the Hamilton County ASCS office. Appointed by President Jimmy Carter as executive director of the state ASCS office. Recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for the Department of Agriculture, graduate of University of Georgia, veteran of the United States Army, member of Jasper First United Methodist Church. Survivors: wife (55 years) Billie Bradshaw Payne; son Blair (Mona) Payne; daughter Kay (Jeff) Slocum; sister, Dorothy Doak; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Billie's obituary provided further info: Billie Bradshaw Payne, 79, of Jasper, Fla., died at her residence. Born in Hamilton County, Fla., on Oct. 10, 1928 to the late W.W. & Alma Parker Bradshaw. Retired from the public school system where she taught music for the majority of her career. Member and pianist of the First United Baptist Church in Jasper, Fla. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde Payne, in 2005. Survivors: son Blair (Mona) Payne; daughter Kay Payne (Jeff) Slocum; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
