The cemetery is located at the site of the original New Hope School. A small monument reading "New Hope School, Brandon's First Public School, Erected on this site, Circa 1870" holds tribute to the historic nature of this area. Surveyed by Laura Brock and Roger Craft as part of the Greater Brandon Genealogical Society's Cemetery Transcription Project on 30 Apr 1998. Copyright to this work belongs to GBGS; used by the FLGenWeb Project and USGenWeb Project by permission of the Society. Transcribed for online by Susie Martin-Rott. Data was done by on-site survey as well as consultation with those in charge of the cemetery to fill in information in some areas, with sections, directional roads and some descriptions of monuments included. It is hoped that by recording not only the names and dates, but also stone colors and inscriptions that in the future this guide may assist in identifying burial locations long after stones may have become illegible. ============================================================================= Plots 001 and 002 are located in the northeast corner of the Cemetery.
