Hillsborough, FL 1850 SLAVE Census TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't know if the District was the 19th Division or Manatee Settlement, they were both listed on each page. This county was a chore to transcribe. When the pages were microfilmed there were out of order. You will see a person on one page go about 3 pages more and find the rest of their entry. I transcribed the pages in the exact order that they are numbered. Where it has No Name Listed, means the enumerator did not put a last name, but left the space blank. Page 321 is missing a lot of information, these are the notes that the enumerator put. Lines 1-4 Person went to Texas and unable to determine age and sex. Lines 5-40 Ages, sex and color cannot be determined. Owners names taken from Quarter Master Brooker and they left the area about the 1st of June. Line 31 on page 321 is the Steamship "Planter", I assume it was on a run at the time of the census. Line 41 on the same page: the ship "Britannia". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
