From January 1, 1889, to date(Aug. 1, 1889). Tampa Journal Aug. 1,1889. The following statement was compiled from the record kept by Mr. M. Lovengreen, the only undertaker in this section. It is a complete list of all the deaths which have occurred in Tampa and vicinity for the seven months ending with yesterday. At least 12,000 people are included in the territory represented in the record. This it will be seen, puts our death rate at the phenomenally low figure of 1 percent. And a glance at the causes will put a still more favorable aspect on the report. THE LIST: Mrs. Ellen Kindrick, died January 1, age 73 years; heart disease, incident to advance age. Ms. Mary E. Carncross, January 11, 48 years; consumption, with intercurrent brain trouble. Arcion Lewis, January 11, 25 years; killed Gertrude Johnson, January 31, 14 years; acute inflammation of bowels Marquar A. Futch, January 9, 27 years; cause of death unknown. Manuel Dega, Feb. 12, 38 years; consumption. Infant of Mrs. Call, Feb. 25; still born. Infant of Antonio Pass, Feb. 27; still born. Jose N. Lopez, March 8, 25 days; malignant ictero(?). Miranda Brockway, March 12; heart disease Joseph Haynesworth, March 17; 3 years; tetanus. ----Vichers, March 20th; died of neglect. Eliza Stretus (colored), March 21, 70 years; old age. Clare Spotford (colored), March 21, 31 years; cause of death unknown. Mary Henderson(colored), March 29, 75 years; old age. Infant above J. S. Eddenfield, April 3,13 months; cholera infantum.
