Murray and Marion S. Murray are published here. They are the parents of Donna Murray Allen, who compiled these obituaries in September 1998. Norman Thomas Murray January 7, 1923 - July 11, 1972 Brandon News (Brandon, FL) Norman T. Murray, Sr. Norman T. Murray, Sr. 49, of Brandon, died on July 11. A native of Lemont Furnace, Penna., he had resided here since 1958. He was employed by the State Road Department as a foreman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marion Murray; one son, Norman T. Murray, Jr. of Brandon; and two daughters, Mrs. Donna Allen of Tampa and Miss Shelley Murray of Brandon. Others surviving include three brothers, James Murray of Detroit Mich.; George Murray of Dunbar, Penna.; and Milton Murray of Ohio. In addition, he is survived by two sisters. They are Mrs. Mary Renninger of Uniontown, Penna., and Mrs. Goldie Marnell of Dunbar, Penna. Services were conducted July 14 at the Stowers Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon by the Rev. Ross Geiger. Interment followed in Limona Cemetery. Norman Thomas Murray January 7, 1923 - July 11, 1972 Funeral services for Mr. Norman Thomas Murray, 49, of Brandon, will be held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Stowers Chapel with the Reverend Ross M. Geiger officiating. Interment will follow in Limona Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Murray; one son, Norman Thomas Murray, Jr., both of Brandon; two daughters, Mrs. Donna M. Allen, Tampa, Miss Shelley Murray, Brandon; three brothers, James Murray, Detroit, Mich., George Murray, Dunbar, Pa., and Milton Murray, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Renniger, Uniontown, Pa., and Mrs. Goldie Marnell, Dunbar, Pa. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Marion Shelley Murray March 14, 1926 - June 6, 1995 The Tampa Tribune Marion S. Murray, 69, of Brandon, died June 6th of natural causes. Mrs. Murray was a retired teacher from the Hillsborough County School System, where she taught in several East Hillsborough County elementary schools for 25 years. She was an honor graduate of the University of South Florida, where, at age 46, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree, once again graduating with honors. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi, the honor society for education majors. Mrs. Murray was an excellent teacher, who thoroughly loved her job and who dedicated her life to teaching her students. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman T. Murray; a daughter, Norma Lee Murray; and a grand-daughter, Shannon Allen. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Allen of Tampa, Shelley Cumbie of Seffner, and a son, N.T. Murray, Jr. of Tampa. Grandchildren, David Allen, Jenny Rebecca Allen and Craig Cumbie. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Shelley; sisters Pat and Gloria, all of PA.; brothers, Dr. Dan Shelley of PA and Henry Shelley of MO as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place this evening (Thursday, June 8th) at the Stowers Brandon Chapel, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday; June 9th at the Limona Village Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Limona Cemetery.
