Carter Wabasso, Florida Dear Madame: Yours addressed to Clerk of Court at Eufaula, Ala., referred to me, as this office is where the Marriage Records are kept. I have searched carefully the record for the year 1876 and find therein no record whatever of any marriage license issued to W. W. Carter and M. B. Williams. In those days the licenses were issued without being recorded before and, relying on the paper being returned after the ceremony and then recorded. Undoubtedly some were never returned and in that way escaped record. Nowadays, we record the license in a book before the license ever leaves the office. Yours truly, H. R. Lee Judge of Probate ******************************************************************************* Nov. 20th, 1925 Mrs. B. W. Carter Wabasso, Fla.
