appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for the county and State aforesaid, C. C.
Avery, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 76 years of age,
having been born on the 25th day of Feb. 1848, in the county of Lee, in the State of
Georgia.  That he is a bona fide citizen of the county of Jackson, State of Florida.
 That he has resided in the State of Florida continuously since the 1st day of
February, 1854.

That he is the identical person who enlisted at Cowpen Pond, under the name of Geo.
Robinson Company, Home Guard, on the 1st day of March, 1864, in Company………..,
Regiment Home Guard of the State of Florida in the service of the (Here state
whether the service claimed was in the Confederate States Army or in ther service of
a State) Home Guard and who was honorably discharged at Cowpen Pond, in the State of
Florida, on the ….day of May, 186…., on account of Surrender.

Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that C.
C. Avery was enlisted in Company Geo. Robinson’s Company Home Guard Regiment of the
State of Florida, at Cow Pen Pond, in the State of Florida on the 1st day of March,
1864, that he served faithfully in the said organization until the…….day of May,
1865, when he was honorably discharged on account of Surrender, at Cowpen Pond in
the State of Florida, and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the
oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War.

day, the foregoing application of C. C. Avery for a pension under the Laws of

applicant.
