One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifteen personally appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid Seania Ayers a resident of Jackson County of Florida, State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 6424, Laws of Florida, approved June 4th, 1913. That she is the widow of John Ayers who was enlisted under the name of John Ayers (John Ayers) on the 13 day of July, 1861, in Company F Fla Inf. Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at Died at Allam’s Bluff Dec. 16, 1862, on account of Death. (Here give complete statement of other service, if any.) That he also served 6 months of state service before enlistment in Appalachicola. (State here if husband drew a pension, and when.) Has never Drew any pension. That she was lawfully married to the said John Ayers under the name of Seania Burnam in the county of Calhoun, State of Florida, on the 11th day of September, 1862, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the 16th day of Dec., 1862, in the County of Liberty, State of Florida. That she is a resident of Jackson County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the 10 day of Sept., 1838. State of Florida} County of Calhoun} Before me, a Notary Public in and for the State and County aforesaid, personally came William Ayers of Altha County of Calhoun State of Florida who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Allen Bluff in the State of Florida on the about 15th day of Page 006 Oct 1861 in Company “F” Fla Regiment of the State of Florida, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that John Ayers enlisted in Company “F” Regiment of the State of Fla at Allen Bluff in the State of Florida on the about 15 day of Oct. 1862; that he served faithfully in the said organization until the 16 day of Dec 1862; when he was honorably discharged on account of Death at Allen Bluff in the State of Florida, and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. Mar 16 1916 War Department, The Adjutant General’s Office Washington, March 18, 1916. Respectfully returned to the Treasurer, State of Florida, Tallahassee. No record has been found of service, capture or parole of a man named John Ayers as a member of Co. F, 1st Reg’t Florida Infantry (formed in part by McDonel’s Florida Batt’n and Miller’s Batt’n), Confederate States Army. The records show, however, that John Ayers (surname also borne as Ayres), private, Co. F. 2d Reg’t Florida Infantry, CSA, enlisted May 10, 1861, at Jacksonville, Fla., for 12 months, and his name last appears on the company muster roll for March and April, 1862, on which he was reported absent, home on sick furlough. No later record of him has been found. There are 13 later rolls of said Co. F. 2d Reg’t Florida Infantry, CSA, on file, the last being dated Feb. 28, 1865. H. T. Before me personally appeared the undersigned I A Ayers and W M Ayers who after being duly sworn says they are brothers to one John Ayers who was mustered into state service on July 13th. 1861, and that the said John Ayers died at Allan Bluff Fla. on December 16th. 1862., also that W M Ayers is now living and drawing a pension #7189.
