Lee a resident of Jackson County of Florida State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 5885, Laws of Florida, approved June 7, 1909. That she is the widow of Cader A. Lee who was enlisted under the name Cader A. Lee on the 10th day of August 1861 in Company E 15th Alabama Regiment of the State of Alabama and who was honorably discharged art Appomatox Court House Virginia, 1865 on account of the close of the war. Lee, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 68 years of age, having been born on the 19th day of November 1840 in the county of Dale, in the State of Alabama. That he is a bona fide citizen of the county of Jackson, State of Florida. That he has resided in the State of Florida continuously since the 30th day of November, 1881. That he was the identical person who enlisted at Newton, Ala., under the name of C. A. Lee on the 10th day of August, 1861, in Company H, Regiment 15th Ala. of the State of Alabama in the service of the Confederate States Army and who was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Appomattox in the State of Virginia on the 9th day of April, 1865 on account of expiration of the war. That I served faithfully until HONORABLY DISCHARGED from the service of the Confederate States in the year 1865 and did not desert the service of the Confederate States Army nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States until after the surrender of the Confederate Armies. {Here state whereabouts at the close of Civil War.) A. Lee, do hereby make application to the State Board of Pensions, for a pension to be granted to me under the laws of the State of Florida upon the following grounds: I enlisted in the Military service of the Confederate States during the war between the States of the United States and that I did not desert the Confederate or State service; that I was a bona fide citizen of this State on the 1st day of January A. D. 1885, and I have been continuously since a citizen of the State of Florida, and that I..." (Here state fully the disability under which an applicant claims a pension, whether he lost in service a limb or limbs, eye or eyes, or whether he is permanently disabled by reason of wounds received in service, or disease, to gain a livelihood by manual labor, or whther he is over 85 years of age and is by reason of age incapable of providing a living for himself.) "Am over 65 years of age and by reason of disabilities due to age am incapable of providing a living for myself." [abstract] Then he swore that neither he nor his wife owned property to the value of $800, that he was unable to earn a livelihood and had no other means of support, and had not purposely disposed of property with the object of receiving benefits of a disabled soldier's pension. Fraser who being by me duly sworn deposes and says that he is the Adjutant of Camp Frank Phillips #1506 of the United Confederate Veterans of the County of Jackson in the State of Fla. That he knows C. A. Lee the within named applicant for pension under the laws of Florida, that the said applicant was a soldier or sailor in the service of the Confederate States during the war between the States, and that he rendered faithful service, did not desert the Confederate army, that he is a member in good standing of Camp Frank Phillips # 1506 of the United Confederate Veterans. Lee Co-Ordinator of State Institutions Capitol Bldg. Tallahassee, Florida Re: C. A. Lee Dear Mr. Lee: With reference to your inquiry concerning the service rendered by your father, Cader A. Lee, during the War Between the States, I wish to advise that Mr. Lee received a pension under Certificate # 3856, From the State of Florida. Mr. Lee stated in his claim for pension that he was born on Nov. 19, 1840, in Dale Co., Alabama; that he enlisted in Company H, 15th Alabam Regiment, Confederate States Army in July, 1861, at Newton, Alabama; served until Discharged on account of the close of the war and he furnished the affidavits of two comrades serving with him. He also furnished the affidavit of J. D. Fraser, Adjutant Camp #1506. United Confederate Veterans. After the death of Mr. Lee, his widow, Mrs. Theodosia E. Windham Lee, to whom he was married on Sept. 6, 1866, received a pension under Certificate No. 3702. Mr. Lee died on Oct. 9, 1910. Lee and his widow, Mrs. Theodosia E. Lee. Mr. Lee received a pension from the State of Florida under Certification No. 3856, and Mrs. Lee was receiving a pension under Certification No. 3702 at the time of her death. Mr. Lee stated in his application for pension that he enlisted at Newton, Alabama, on August 10th, 1861, in Company H, 15th Alabama Cavalry, Confederate States Army, and that he served until Discharged at Appomattox, in the State of Virginia, on April 9th, 1865. Mrs. Lee stated in her claim for pension that she was married to Cader A. Lee under the name Theodosia E. Windham in the County of Dale, State of Alabama, on the 6th day of September, 1866, and that he died on the 9th day of October 1910.
