Veterans Death: 7th February 1875 in Greenwood, Jackson County Florida Re-Marriage: Margaret Smith Walding was married to Seaborn Walding January 13th, 1878 She has been a resident of: Jackson County since 22nd October 1846 Address: Route 3, Box 41, Marianna Fla. Claim for Pension Filed: Jan 8 1935 Approved: July 10 1935 With pay from: Jan 8 1935 At the rate of: $480.00 per annum Signed: Roumelle Bowen, Secretary of Board ***************************** AFFIDAVIT OF COMRADE John Wyatt Basford of Jackson County Florida Dated: 7th June 1935 ***************************** WAR DEPARTMENT Washington January 3, 1935 The records show that Anderson Smith, private, Company I, 4 Regiment Florida Infantry, Confederate States Army, enlisted July 3, 1861, at Greenwood, age 22 years. He was wounded in battle at Murfreesboro, December 31, 1862, severe in Head. The muster roll of the company for January and February, 1864, last on file, shows him absent sick since November 23, 1863. Other records show that he was admitted to Direction Hospital, Griffin, Ga., November 23, 1863, and that he was present in that Hospital on December 22, 1863. Clothing was issued to him on November 7, 1864, and no later record has been found. Signed: James F.
