Lee Moffitt Cancer and Research Center, Tampa, FL., following a long bout with Leukemia. A native of Hardee County, FL., she had lived in Marianna since 1972, and was a former Managing Editor of the Jackson County Floridan. Prior to that, she was Assistant Society Editor of the Dothan Eagle. After she and Mr. James were married in July 1978, she assited him in operating his business, James and James Funeral Homes, located in Marianna, Graceville and Sneads. She was a member and former Publicity Chairman of the Marianna Woman's Club, a member and past President of the Mystic Ladies Club, a member and past officer ot the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club, and also held membership in Marianna Chapter 129, Order of the Eastern Star, and of Smith-Kelly American Legion Post 100 Auxillary. She was First Lady of Shaddai Shine Temple in Panama City, FL. in 1989, when her husband served as Potentate. She was a member of the first Assembly of God Church in Marianna, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Crosby of Tallahassee, FL.; her father Paul Englis of Ona; a sister Martha Lewis of West Palm Beach, FL.; a brother Wayne English; and a nephew, Colby English, both of Ona; Survivors, in addition of her husband of almost 19 years include, two sons and a daughter in law, Colin D. Miles and Steve and Cindy James, all of Marianna; three daughters and sons in law, Sue and Gary Brock, Brenda and Allen Gibson, all of Marianna, and Sadie and Randy Harris of Denham Springs, LA; her stepmother, Marie Englsh; and two brothers and a sister in laws, J. Paul and Sue English, Alvin and Teresa English, all of Ona; one step sister, Elnora Smith, and a stepbrother and stepsister in law, Randy and Wanda Smith, both of Lakeland; seven grandchildren, Jason and Shannon Carter, Stephanie and Andrew James, all of Marianna, Barry Harris of LA and Heather and Joseph Gibson of Marianna: and one great grandson, Trenton Carter of Marianna; and several nieces and nephews.
