Hunter, Co Serv Ofset, Taverse, Fla. we obtained from the Probate Judge in Anderson County, S.C. a copy of my application for pension with the state of S.C. which was executed in 1923. This application had a statement by two persons certifying that they had personal knowledge that the subject person served in the Confederate Army. This application was approved by the State of S.C. and on this basis, she drew a pension from S.C. A copy of this Application was furnished to the Veterans Administration in Feb 1959 and on the basis of same, the VA is now paying to Mrs. Smith a pension."
