Merle Philip Beard, 76, of Leesburg. Survivors include his wife, Jo; sons, 
Daniel of Eustis and Joseph of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; daughters, Rebecca 
McLaughlin of Edinboro, Pa., and Sue Halter of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; brother Bert 
of Fairfax, Va.; sister, Elaine George of Oldsmar; 11 grandchildren; and 18 
great-grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He was a builder, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, and a life 
member of the Desabled American Veterans and VFW Post 8087 of Eustis.
