Helen El Calkins, 79, of Leesburg. Survivors include her daughters, Carole 
Beckerer of Milford, Conn., and Beverly Vangerald of Jacksonville; brothers, 
Marshall Howes of Carmichael, Calif., and E. Thomas Galliford of Lenox Mass.; 
sister, Elizabeth Puleri of Leesburg; six grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
She was a registered nurse, an Episcopalian and a member of Eastern Star and of 
Eagles.



She retired as an emergency room nurse from Berkshire Medical Center, 
Pittsfield, Mass, and as a staff nurse for 10 years at Monroe Regional Hospital 
in Ocala.



Memorial services and burial arranged by St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in 
Pittsfield, Mass., at the convenience of the family.
