Survivors include his wife, Nellie; six sons, Thomas of Vinton, Ohio, Don of Eustis, Ron of Bellview, John of St. Petersburg, Glenn of Howey in the Hills, and Dustin of Ocala; three daughters, Linda Hawks of Wylie, Texas, Nella Smith of Bidwell, Ohio, and Aletha Waller of Ocala; brother, David of Lexington, Ky.; three sisters, mVerna May of Pikeville, Ky., Esta Tackett of Pikeville, Kuy., and Lena Coleman of Pikeville, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Additional Comments: He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist. He was disabled during the war and received the Purple Heart with Oak Cluster also was part of the Normandy Campaign.
