Joe N. Griggs of Leesburg died Saturday Dec. 18, 1999. Survivors include his 
wife, Nadine; sons, Joe Lewis Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Joe Nathan of Alanta, 
Ronald E. of Jonesboro,Ga., Anthony T. of Edwards Air Force Base in 
California; daughters, Teresa and Diane, both of Atlanta, Sandra Gooden of 
Leesburg; brothers, James Bradford of Leesburg, Charlie of Decatur, Ga., Roy 
of Leesburg; sisters, Thelma Edwards of Montgomery, Ala., Nellie Moss of 
Lagrange, Ga., Ophelia Brown of Atlanta, Mildred Wright of Bronx, N.Y.; seven 
grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He was a laborer and member of Zion Hope Baptist Church.

He was a member of The Ushers Ministry and vice president of the Citywide 
Ushers Union and was ordained as a deacon in 1984.

Burial in Hill Crest Memorial Garden in Leesburg, under the direction of 
Marvin C. Zanders Funeral Home, Apopka, Fl.
