Willie Prater,81, of Altoona. Survivors include his wife Edith A.; four sons, 
Billy of Dover Plains, N.Y., Gillum of Wingdale, N.Y., Kenneth of Fruitland 
Park, and Danny if Dover Plains, N.Y.; four daughters, Peggy Lahue of 
Keeseville, N.Y., Patty Earle of Coker Cola, Tenn., Nancy Swanson of Wingdale, 
N.Y., and Bertha Nichols of Arizona City, Ariz.; a sister, Broxie Elayne of 
Hillard, Ohio; 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He was a retired cook from the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, 
N.Y.

He attended Altoona United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of 
World War II and the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Prater in 1992 and a son Jonas 
Prater, in 1944.
