Survivors include his wife, Catherine Munch Shelgren; one daughter, Mary Beth Becker (Thomas) of Jacksonville; one son Harold Shelgren Jr., (Roxy) of Niceville; five grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Christopher Becker and Sarah and Stephen Shelgren; five sisters, June Vaughn, Joan Alen and Jane Diamond; and brothers, James Virgil and John Shelgren. Additional Comments: He served with the 8th Army air Corp and a navigator during Word War II an was a POW for the last 6 months of the war.He was given the Purple Heart and a disabled veteran. He retired after 30 years of service with Wolverine Pipe Line. Interment in Clinton-Garfield, Rolfe, Iowa at a later date.
