Shiffler, 72, of Lady Lake. Survivors include his wife, Patricia M.; daughters, Barbara L. of Essex Junction, Vt., Kathryn E of Weehawken, N.J.; and Linda A. of Winooski, Vt.; son,William E. of Johnson, Vt.stepsons, the Rev.John Flood of Swanton, Vt., and Michael Flood of Snohamish, Wash.; stepdaughter, Mary Ellen Flood of Waterville, Vt.; brothers, Daniel of Ocala and Kenneth of Bellefonte, Pa.; five stepgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: He was a retired mehanical engineer for IBM and a Protestant. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II during which he was awarded two Purple Heart medals and three Bronze Star medals and was a prioner of war in Germany. A Mass of Christian burial held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Lady Lake with Father James Mulvaney as celebrant. Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Essex Junction, Vt.
