Shelby Melvin Slayton,78, of Sorrento. Survivors include his wife, Mildred, a 
son, Shelby Melvin II of Tampa; three daughters, Margaret E. Tuggie of Tampa, 
Janice Watson of Lithia and Delores Boyd of Riverview; three brothers, Randall 
of New Orleans, Marion of McEwan, Tenn., and Eugene of Sikestown, Mo.; two 
sisters, Laura Medlin of Kennett, Mo.. and Louise Edwards of Alton, Ill.; four 
grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He was an engineer in the citrus industry and attended First Baptist Church of 
Altoona.
