Dieter Herwig Thurmann, 62, of Lady Lake. Survivors include his wife, Catherine 
of Lady lake; two sons, Harold of Saltzburg, Austria, and Wesley B. of Key 
West; two brothers, Ernest of Germany and Jerry of Dallas, Texas; three 
sisters, Neva Fearon of British Columbia, Canada, Manuela Barnhardt of Calgary, 
Canada and Josie Dertig of Huntsville, Ala.; four granddaughters.

Additional Comments:
He was a retired Lake County Sheriff's deputy and also a retired police officer 
with the Metro-Dade Police Department in Miami, with 28 and a half years of 
service

He was an Army Special Forces veteran of the Vietnam War .

A memorial service held at Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake.
