James Levi Yates, Jr., 78, of Orlando. Survivors include his son, James Levi 
III of Osceda, Mich.; daughter, Theresa Shaw of Orlando; sister, Lorene Liles 
of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchi8olddren and six great-grandchildren. 

Additional Comments:
He was with the Lake County Sheriff's Department for 29 years.



Also a police chief of Fruitland  Park and eight years  and Bainbridge, Ga.,  
for one.



He was a member of Church of Christ of Leesburg and a veteran of World War II.



Funeral services held at the Church with the Rev. Vernon Means officiating. 



Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg.
