ARNDT, EDWARD is one of the prominent men in the citrus fruit industry of Florida. Long experience as a planter and grove operator has brought him this distinction, and for a number of years he has also been identified with the marketing of the citrus products and is manager of one of the important packing houses of the state, located at Fort Myers. Mr. ARNDT was born at Saginaw, Michigan, July 18, 1868. He was reared in Michigan, attended the grade and high schools of the state, and, beginning at the age of twenty-two, he was employed eleven years in a hardware house of Saginaw. With this business experience and a modest capital he came to Florida, purchasing land at Buckingham, near Fort Myers, and making his first planting of citrus trees. He still owns thirty-nine acres, and has thirty acres in possible groves. When the Stripes Packing House was established at Fort Myers in 1914 Mr. ARNDT was selected to manage the business, and he is busy in that work every day of the packing and shipping season. The sales manager of the packing house is HUGH McDONALD. Mr. And Mrs. ARNDT have one son, ROLAND, who assists his father in the packing house.
