 Dorothy J. Abernathy, age 82, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away Wednesday, 
January 18, 2012 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh. She was born in Michigan on August 
19, 1929 and moved to Florida in 1971 with her husband, Billy. She worked as 
the manager for Lehigh Elementary School Food Service for 20 years. 
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy and her son, Gary. Dorothy is 
survived by her two daughters and a son and their families, four grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren.
 The funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 23, 2012 at Hodges 
Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, Ft. Myers. Entombment will follow in Lee 
Memorial Park Cemetery.
