He was born April 26, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of Samuel D. and Sarah ( nee McDade) Adams. He came to the United States at the age of 8 years old. He served in the U.S Navy for 3 1/2 years during W.W. II. Three years were spent upon the USS Ashland, LSD#1 in the South Pacific, engaged in many major battles including Iwo Jima, Saipan and Tinian. He was accorded seven Battle Stars. He was employed for many years by Frequency Engineering Laboratories, New Jersey. He retired to Bonits Springs in 1980. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, a daughter and her family, granddaughter, sister and nephew. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith S. Adams, and sisters, Mae Maczko, Ella Wood, Nancy Greiser and Jesse Coyne. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
