 Joan Troop Banks, 83, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away Saturday, March 17, 
2012 at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, FL. She was born in Pittston, Maine on 
November 15, 1928, the daughter of John Elwood Troop and Gertrude Sparrow 
Troop. She graduated from Gardiner High School.
 She was employed by the Maine State Employee's Credit Union, in Augusta , 
Maine retiring in 1988 , moving to N.Fort Myers for the winters until 2005, 
when she moved there permanently.
 She leaves her two children, a son and daughter and their families,five 
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Leon J. Banks, her son Peter 
A. Banks, three sisters and three brothers.
 Funeral Services will be held in Augusta, Maine later in the summer.
