 Gene Crawford, 76, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away November 1, 2011. Gene 
was born in Labelle, FL in 1935. In 1957 he married his wife of 54 years. Gene 
attended Florida Southern College, spent two years in the Army, and the next 
18 at Lehigh Development Corp. Gene and his wife then moved to Chimney Rock, 
NC and purchased and ran "The Esmeralda Inn" with his wife and her sister and 
brother-in-law. In 1983, Gene and his wife returned to South Florida and Gene 
retired in 2007. 
 Gene is survived by his beloved wife, a son and daughter and numerous nieces 
and nephews.
 Funeral services will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens , Ft. Myers, FL 
at 4 PM Friday, November 4, 2011 with visitation from 3-4 PM.
