 John C. Flinn, Jr. died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Hope Hospice in Cape 
Coral, FL. He was born November 28, 1917 in Wilmington, Delaware, He was in 
the first class to graduate from Pierre S. Dupont High School.
 He married Kathryn Ann Fleahman in 1943 and was holding her hand 55 years 
when she passed away. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Daniel 
Flinn, in 1999.
 He was the last surviving member of the crew of Destiny's Child, the B-17 
that he co-piloted out of England in 1943-44. He was a retired steel cabinet 
manufacturing supervisor who loved to paint and golf. 
 He is survived by his daughter, five grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.
