 Dr. James Harris passed away in Ft. Myers, FL on October 19, 2011. He was 
born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on December 9, 1941, and was the second 
child of Charles and Lilla Harris. He is survived by two brothers.
 During his undergraduate years, James met his wife of Philadelphia, PA. They 
were married in 1963. After graduating college, James then graduated  from 
medical school in 1968, earning his doctorate. He subsequently completed his 
residency in general surgery in 1973 and also earned a masters in surgery 
degree and began his life as a general and trauma surgeon in private practice.
 James also served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve 
Medical Corps. 
 James and his wife had three sons and also survived by four grandchildren.
 A worship service celebrating his life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 
Ft. Myers on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. for family and friends.
