Glorya Matthews Hornell, 78, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away Thursday, January 
26, 2012. Formerly of Elkhart, IN, she had been a resident of Ft. Myers since 
2004. She was born September 4, 1933 in Cranton, PA, the daugher of William R. 
and Irene (nee Burke) Matthews. She was raised in Albany, NY where she also 
attended the College of St. Rose. In 1980 she was named City Controller for 
Elkhart. She later became Senior Vice-President of Human Resources at Midwest 
Commerce Bank. 
 She is survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter and their families 
and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, 
Susan Mary.
A memorial service will be held at The Forest Country Club at a later date. In 
lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to 
Joanne's House at Hope Hospice.
