 Charles A. Humphries, age 81, of LaBelle, FL passed away December 2, 2011 in 
Lehigh Acres. He was born August 31, 1930 in Broussard, LA, the son of the 
late Willie A. "Buck" and the late Carrie (Howell) Humphries Unwin. He was a 
resident of LaBelle since 1953.
 Charles started his career in law enforcement as an Officer with the City of 
Pahokee Police Department where he worked until he enlisted in the U.S Army. 
He served in Korea and was a recipient of The Purple Heart.  He was a 
Patrolman from 1953 until 1983 with the Florida Highway Patrol. 
 He loved church and was an active member of First Baptist Church of LaBelle.
 Survivors include his wife of 55 years, two daughters, and several 
grandchildren and a nephew.
 The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011 3:00 p.m. at First 
Baptist Church of LaBelle with Rev. Frank Deerey Jr. officiating. Visitation 
will be Monday, December 5, from 6-8 p.m at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in 
LaBelle. Cremation arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home.
