Jemella, Fort Myers, FL passed away at Hope Hospice on February 14, 2012. He was born in Norwood, MA on March 27, 1920, and lived in MA prior to moving to Ft. Myers 29 years ago. In World War II he served with the 456th Bomb Group as a Ball Turret Gunner on the B-24 Liberator. While stationed in Stornara, Italy he flew on 48 missions and was decorated with the Purple Heart, two Silver Stars and the Distinguished Service Medal. For the past 21 seasons, he served on the Minnesota Twins Spring Training Staff at their Ft Myers facility. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club and the past president of the Lions Club. He leaves behind a son and daughter and their families,four grandchildren and a grat-granddaughter. He was married to Ann (Yelapi) Jemella for 64 years prior to her death in 2010. Family and friends are gathering at Nickserson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne, MA on Monday, February 20th at 8:00 AM. Interment Service to follow at Bourne National Cemetery at 9:00 AM.
