 The world has lost a truly lovely lady, our mother left this world on 
December 10, 2011, three days after her 80th birthday.
 Born on December 7th, 1931 in Stuart, FL. Zalene was the eldest of the four 
daughters of George E. & Muriel Allen. Zalene graduated from Fort Myers High 
School in 1950 and attended the University of Florida . Zalene married Donald 
Dale Carter but tragically he died in 1955. 
 Zalene was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and 
recently great-grandmother. She was a selfless caregiver, homemaker, pilot, 
real estate agent, bookkeeper, business partner and friend to all.
 She is survived by her sisters, brother in law, a son and daughter and their 
families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
 She is preceded in death by her parents, Georg E. & Muriel Alle; husbands, 
Donald D. Carter, Sr. & A. J. "Dutch" Knipper and sister Katherine A. Ryerson.
 Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Zalene's life on 
Saturday December 17, 2011 at 11:15 am at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, Fort 
Myers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hope Hospice.
