 Ilse Strack Schlenker Kyllmann died at Emeritus Senior Living in Bonita 
Springs, FL on May 24, 2012. Ilse was born on May 27, 1911 in Hamburg, 
Germany, the daughter of Elly Herwig Strack and Herman Leberecht Strack. She 
spent the first 10 years of her life during World War 1 in Germany. Then she 
and her sister Ulla emigrated to the U.S. to live with her father and step-
mother in Bronxville, NY. 
 Ilse attended the NY School of Fine and Applided Arts and business school. 
She then went to work at the North German Lloyd Steamship CO. On Sept. 3, 1932 
Llse married Bertram Eric Schlenker. They lived in NJ for many years raising 
their two children. After the death of Bert in an auto accident Ilse married 
Gerhard Kyllmann, the widower of her first cousin Teidi at the Orange Lawn and 
Tennis Club on Dec. 4, 1965. She lived in Boliva, SA for 36 years before 
returning to the U.S to live with her son. 
 Ilse is survived by her daughter and son and their famileis, stepchildren, 
and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM August 1, 2012 at First 
Presbyterian Church, Bonita Springs, FL.
