 George C. Mahan died of natural causes in Lehigh Acres, FL June 1, 2012. He 
was born February 14, 1923 in Ashland, KY and graduated in 1939 from 
Paintsville HS and later, the family moved to Mansfield,OH. George served 
during WWII as a member of the 504th AAA Gun Battalion. Following the war, he 
was employed at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. until his retirement. In 1966 he 
wed Vangie (Bias) Altug. he became a father to her son and they had a 
daughter. After moving to Lehigh Acres in 1978 he worked at Publix. 
 George loved his Lord, his country and his family. Georeg was preceded in 
death by his younger brother, his older sister, his parents and his wife. He 
is survived by a stepson, daughter and six grandchildren. 
 Viewing and funeral are at Lee Memorial Park, Ft. Myers, FL Monday, June 4, 
2012 from 5-7 PM and at prior to Service on Tuesday, June 5 at 11 AM
