 John P. Manthey, 80, resident of North Fort Myers, FL since 1998 and former 
resident of Copiague, NY, Park Forest South, IL, and Ridgewood, NY, passed 
away on November 2, 2011 at Hope Hospice after a long illness. He was born 
January 28, 1931, in NY to John T. and Emily C. (Staffler) Manthey. In addition
to his parents, John was preceded in death by his eldest son, John C. (Chuck) 
in 2000 and his sister, Joan Manthey Chalk in 2001.
 John was employed by Marine Office of America in New York City and 
transferred to Chicago, IL in 1958. His second career was in the automobile 
industry in IL and NY,
 John will be greatly missed by his life partner of 21 years and a son and 
daughter and their spouses. He is also survived by a sister and her husband 
and five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He is also 
survived by a previous spouse.
 John requested no service be held. Arrangements are by the National Cremation 
and Burial Society.
