  "Father" John McGinnis died Monday evening at Hope Hospice. He was born in 
1938 in Shelbyville, KY, to J. Milton and Dorothy Smith McGinnis and attended 
school in Nasville, graduating with a Masters in Music from George Peabody 
College. Before attending St. Like's Seminary at the Universityof the South, 
he was on the faculty of Southwestern in Memphis ( now Rhodes College).
 Rev. McGinnis served Episcopal churches in Pulaski and Memphis, TN before 
coming to Florida. He came to Epiphany Church, Cape Coral, FL in 1976 and 
served there for 25 years, becoming its first Rector and overseeing the 
rebuilding of the sanctuary, offices and education areas.
 He is survived by his wife, several children and their families, sister, and 
six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 Bishop Dabney T. Smith will preside at the funeral on December 8, 2011 at 11 
AM at Epiphany Episcopal Church, Cape Coral.
