 Mercedes "Chicha" Mestas passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Fort 
Myers, FL at the age of 96. 
 Born in Camaguey, Cuba on Christmas Day, 1914, she and her family fled Cuba 
in the 1960's and made a home in Kansas, Texas and finally Florida.
 She is survived by two sons, a neice and two granddaughters. She joins her 
husband, Dr. Jorge Mestas, in eternal rest.
 The wake will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 
Ft. Myers on Saturday, November 12 from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral will be held at 
St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Cape Coral. FL Monday, November 14 at 10 a.m.
