 John Newton Moore, 91,of Portage, MI died December 20, 2011. He had been a 
resident of Portage since 2008, moving from Lehigh Acres, FL. He moved to 
Florida in 1985 after 36 years as a professor at Michigan State University. He 
served in the Navy in 1944-1945. 
 He was preceded in death in 1999 by his wife of 58 years, Wilma. Survivors 
include his two sons and their families, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-
grandchildren. 
 Burial was arrnaged by Anderson-Patterson Cremation and Funeral Services and 
has taken place in Lee Memorial Park in Lehigh Acres, FL.
