He leaves his wife of 62 years, three children, and four great-grandchildren. He graduated from Bellevile H.S in NJ in 1945, served as an artist correspondent in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947, and earned a BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 1951. He continued to study at the New York Art Students League and the Lyme Academy of Fine Art in CT. After following dual careers in art and business he settled in Fort Myers, FL with his wife in 1990. A distinguished painter of the tropical Florida scene, his oil paintings of local landscapes completed outdoors in the impressionist tradition have been represented in galleries in the U.S and abroad.This year he published "Florida Artist: Wm North- His Life & Art" and a second book, "Florida Citrus in Fine Art: Paintings of the Golden Harvest".
