Myers, FL passed away April 12, 2012. He was born February 24, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Frank and Agnes Connell Turner. Robert served in the Navy during wartime from 1948-1952 as radioman on the U.S Hyades AF28. His service awarded him a Navy Occupation Metal and National Defense Ribbon. His occupation after the military was with General Motors at the Lordstown, Ohio plant. In 994 he retired to Florida to join his daughters. Robert was gifted in the arts of music and painting and he owned a race horse. He is survived by a son, three daughters and their families, eight grandchildren, great-granddaughter, sister, brother and several nices and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Matthew Turner, a brother, Sidney Turner and a newborn brother, Jimmy Turner. Robert will be laid to rest April 27, 2012 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL at 11:30 a.m . There will be a Celebration of Life in Ft. Myers, FL on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. The family will receive all to share in Robert's love of life, music and family. The Celebation will be held at the Laurel Oaks Clubhouse, Ft. Myers.
