NOTES FOR THE 1830 LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA CENSUS

1. Page 113B: line 14 (John Green) line total is incorrect. There are 8 entered 
on the A page for line 14 and 7 on the B page for a total of 15; original has a 
line total of 8. Correct line total automatically entered on transcription.

2. Page 113B: line 15 (C. C. Williams) line total is incorrect. There are 6 
entered on the A page for line 14 and 0 on the B page for a total of 15; 
original has a line total of 13. Correct line total automatically entered on 
transcription. Page total not affected; enumerator must have confused lines 
between A and B pages.

3. Page 115A: line 6 has 3 individuals listed as one household: R. Lewis, R.C. 
Allen, and J.H. Duval. The first two are in the Firstname field and only Duval 
is in the Lastname field.

4. Page 116A: lines 1 - 8 finish up Tallahassee; lines 10 - 26 start Magnolia. 
Line 9 left blank.

5. Page 124B: 8th column (Female slave 10-24) total is incorrect. Original has 
18 total, but actual total is 17. Correct total recorded on transcript. Page 
total is off by 1.

6. Page 125A and B: very poor image, manipulated in Photoshop so that I could 
transcribe it. Counts all agree, only 3 names unreadable.

7. Page 127B: first two columns cut off on original. Lines that didn't change 
the A sheet line total were filled in with 0's on transcription (lines 1, 5, and 
7); lines that have entries but were impossible to figure out were filled in 
with "u" for unreadable (lines 2, 3, 4, and 6). Column totals for first two 
columns were transcribed as is from original.

8. Page 133B: line 10 (James Loftin) and line 11 (James Cameron) line totals 
transposed. Line 10 total on original is 4, should be 5; line 11 total on 
original is 5, should be 4.

9. Written on bottom of page 133B:

"The Number of Persons within My Division consisting of the County of Leon is 
Six Thousand four hundred ninety two as appears in the foregoing Schedule 
Subscribed by me This 30th day of November one thousand eight hundred and 
Thirty.
