below spent much of her life in Leon Co., Florida as the wife of Thomas Johns.  
After the death of Thomas Johns she married Col. Enoch P. Blackburn.  Her maiden 
name has not been determined.)

Desdemona Blackburn, wife of Enoch Blackburn, died, in her 58th year, at Villa 
Rica, Ga.

Bro. Blackburn moved with his family from Leon Co., Fla., to Villa Rica in January.  
They had just settled here when Sister Blackburn was attacked with typhoid 
pneumonia, which terminated her earthly career April 1st, 1860.  She has been for 
years an exemplary member of the M. E. Church, South.  She was one of those 
Christians who always, when she was able to be there, was found in the sanctuary.  
As might be expected, her death was calm and peaceful; and, therefore, a jewel has 
passed from a land of disappointments, toils and cares, to that delightful haven of 
the good, and home of the blessed, where the wicked ceased to trouble and the weary 
are forever at rest.
