Where the applicant for pension has remarried since the death of the soldier husband, upon whose service she is applying for a pension, she must establish the fact that she has again become a widow in the same manner as prescribed in above paragraph, or if divorced, she should forward certified copy of decree granting a divorce annulling such marriage. Soldiers and Widows of Soldiers who mustered into regular service of the Confederate States Army and members of the State Troops and Home Guards of Florida, upon proper proof, are entitled to a pension under Act of June, 1917. Westbrook, of Orange, County of Cherokee, State of Ga., who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Savannah, in the State of Ga., on the 21st day of Feb. 1862, in Company B, Regiment of the State of Ga. 38th, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that T. H. Westbrook enlisted in Company B Regiment of the State of Ga. 38th at near Atlanta, in the State of Ga. in the fall or autumn 1861; that he served faithfully in said organization until the close of the war when he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED on account of the close of the war, at Ellmira (sic), N. Y. in the State of N. Y., and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the war. (Here state whether the soldier was transferred to another organization, or not, and if captured or imprisoned, state when and where.) Not transferred. Captured at Spotsylvania Court House on 12th of May 1864, and imprisoned. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with T. H. Westbrook in Company B, Regiment 38 of the State of Ga., and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED from Point Lookout, in the State of Md., on the 18th day of March, 1865, by reason of Lee’s surrender, and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the war.
