One Thousand Nine Hundred and Nine, personally appeared before me, a Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for the County and State aforesaid Mrs. Mary Renfroe a resident of Levy County town of Bronson State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, make the following declaration in order to obtain pension under the provisions of Chapter 5855, Laws of Florida, approved June 7, 1909. That she is the widow of Manuel G. Renfroe who was enlisted under the name of Manuel G. Renfroe on the ___ day of February, 1862, in Company "B" 7th Fla. Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at Greensborro N.C. on Apr. 26th, 1865 on account of ___. That he also served for proof of service see former application No. 2205. That she was lawfully married to the said Manuel G. Renfroe under the name of Mary Wilkerson in the County of Levy, State of Florida on the 12th day of April, 1866, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the ___ day of February, 1872, in the County of Levy State of Florida. That she is a resident of Levy County, Florida and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ___ day of February, 1846. That she does not own property, including real estate, personal property, mortgages or other collateral securities, stocks or bonds in this or any other State of exceed in value the sum of Five Thousand Dollars. That the following is a true and correct statement of all property owned by me in this or any other State: Real estate, located at: No land is owned by me. Personal Property: in money $65.00 Cattle, horses and other live stock: none of these Stocks: None of this Bonds: None of this Mortgages, notes and other securities: None of these Total $65.00 That she has heretofore been granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. 2205. I, Mrs. Mary Renfroe, do hereby make application to the State Board of Pensions for a pension, to be granted to use under the act of 1907, Chapter 5600 of the Laws of Florida, on the following Grounds: I am the widow of Nathaniel Green Renfroe deceased, who departed this life on the ___ day of December A.D. 1984, in the county of Levy in the State of Florida. I was married to him on the 12th day of April, A.D. 1866, in the county of Levy in the State of Florida. I have not remarried since the death of my said husband. My husband, the said Nathaniel Green Renfroe, enlisted and served in the military service of the Confederate States during the war between the States of the United States and he did not desert the Confederate or State service. When and where were you married to Nathaniel Green Renfroe: April 12, 1866 4. When and where did he die? December 1874; Near Bronson in Levy County, Florida 5. Have you remarried since the death of your husband? No 6. When and in what company or organization did your husband enlist during the war between the States? In Company "C", Seventh, Florida Regiment 7. Did he desert that service? No 8. Of what State and county are you a resident? State of Florida Levy County 9. How long have you resided in this State? Fifty-Two (52) years 10. From what date have you continuously resided in this State? Continuously for 52 years 11. Have you lived in any other State than Florida? Yes for 18 years in Georgia 12. If you answer yes, give name of the State or States and when you resided there. The party once drew a Pension from Fla. under the former application but discontinued having been granted an "Indian War Pension" from the U.S. Widow's Application for Pension State of Florida} Levy County } On this 29rd day of July 1903 personally appeared before me a Clerk of the Court in and for said county and State, Mrs. Mary Renfroe aged 66 years, who being by me duly sworn according to law, make the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by Act of the Legislature, approved June 6, 1903, for indigent widows of deceased Confederate soldiers and sailors: That she is the lawful widow of Manuel Green Renfroe who enlisted ___ day of February 1862 in Captain G.W. Dudleys Company, "B" Seventh Regiment of the State of Florida and who was on the 26th day of April, 1865, at Greensborro in the State of N.C. honorably discharged from said service, and died on the ___ day of February 1874 at his home in Levy County. Applicant further says that she has never remarried since the death of her husband, Manuel Green Renfroe, that she was legally married to said soldier in the early part of the year 1866 prior to the first day of January, 1885, at Bronson Levy County in the State of Florida; that she has been a bona fide resident of the State of Florida continuously, since the first day of January, A.D. 1890; that she does not own property, real and personal, to the value of $800 in this or any other State, and is not otherwise enabled or in a position to earn a livelihood, and has no income from any source sufficient for a livelihood; and that she has not purposely disposed of any property for the purpose of availing herself of the provisions of this act. The records show that Nathan G. Renfroe, or Nathaniel G. Renfroe (Christian name not found as Manuel), private, Company C, 7th Florida Infantry, Confederate States Army, was enlisted May 17, 1862. On the muster roll of that company for January and February, 1864, the last on file, he is reported as present. No later record of him has been found.
