The older one placed after 1900. The new one placed 2002 based on genealogical research by George Edison Creel, great-great grandson of Christopher Columbus Kyle. Additional Comments: William "Bill" Kyle was a slave owned by Christopher Columbus Kyle (1815 - 1902) of Liberty Co, Florida. After emancipation and the end of the Civil War, he asked to stay with Mr. Kyle. He is shown on subsequent census reports as "Servant" in the Kyle household. James Oven "Olin" Black (1816-2005) identified this grave site and related the following story: -- C.C. Kyle died and was buried at Blue Creek. "Bill" Kyle asked that, at his death, he be buried at the foot of C.C. Kyle, and was in fact buried there. "Bill" Kyle is the only known black person buried at Blue Creek Cemetery. -- The vital data were taken from mentions of "Bill" Kyle on census reports.
