She had been ill only a few days but her illness had caused no serious apprehensions until a few hours before her death. Mrs. Sarah Davis (nee Rogers), was born in Madison county, Florida, November 4th, 1843. On November 1st, 1868, she was married to Mr. W. Turner Davis. Eight children were born to this union, five of whom are still living and rise up and call her blessed.She possessed an uncommon womanly energy and was ambitious for her children to be educated and successful in this life and prepared for the great life beyond. She did the work of a Godly mother and a devoted wife. I don't think I ever knew a more devoted mother. In turn her husband and her children were beautifully devoted to her in a marked degree. Her's was a noble life, a useful life, a womanly life, a christian life. At the age of eighteen she dedicated her life to the Master and united with the Methodist church in which she remained a consistent and useful member until she was transferred to the church triumphant. ...
