S. McCall died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Quarterman, at the advanced age of eighty-five years. Mrs. McCall had been gradually failing for several months and her death was not unexpected, as she had long since passed the Biblical limit of three score and ten. She had for many years been a member of the Quitman Baptist church, and her life of kindness and charity to others evidenced her belief in Christ more strongly than mere professions. She was the mother of Capt. J. G. McCall, H. J. and W. C. McCall, Mrs. J. B. Finch, Mrs. C. M. Quarterman, Mrs. E. W. Ives, of Tampa, and Mrs. J. N. Stripling, of Jacksonville. The funeral service was held at the home of C. M. Quarterman this morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Walker conducted the service, afterward the body was interred in the old cemetery.
